However, he requested an AVI from his bank but they provided me with a « CERTIFICATE OF SUPPORT » in which it is stated that my guarantor has the financial capacity to support an amount of 615 euros per month and they even converted the amount into CFA francs multiplied by 12. It is also stated that this certificate is provided at my uncle’s request along with his bank details and personal information. I called my uncle’s account manager herself, and she told me that this is the same type of certificate they provide to all students who wish to apply for a visa and also that the amount is already blocked in my uncle’s account, which reassured me a little, but I need your opinions. Please enlighten me if this can pass at the consulate. I am worried. Thank you.

@Khadija_Ndiaye I think that if your guarantor is in Africa, you definitely need a visa, not a sponsorship. Discuss further with your uncle to explain it better to him. Sponsorship concerns guarantors who reside in France.
The bank said that this is the certificate they give to all students.

Assuming the bank is telling the truth, and there are other students who have obtained the visa with this certificate, then you have no problem. Go ahead and apply for your visa with it.
This statement is not necessarily true. It all depends on the country where you are applying for the visa. In Côte d’Ivoire, for example, we have known students who obtained their visas with the sponsorship of a guarantor residing in Côte d’Ivoire.
@Andrew thank you for your response I was thinking that if his guarantor is in Africa, he should make a notification to his bank, not necessarily create a blocked account, but if his guarantor is sufficiently solvent and lives in Africa, he should normally make a notification to his bank stating that upon his nephew’s arrival, his account should be debited by €615 each month.
