Do you have any feedback on the RECE visa (Job Search and Business Creation)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for creating this community.

Do you have any feedback regarding the RECE visa (Job Search and Business Creation)?

I submitted an application recently, however, it was rejected for reason 2.

I want to reapply for the visa but would like to have the feedback from others in my situation.

Hello everyone,

Welcome @Anna!

Do you meet the conditions to obtain the RECE visa?

That is to say: being a non-European foreign student who has obtained a diploma from a French institution (master’s degree or equivalent).

You are concerned if you meet these two conditions:

  • You have stayed (or are currently staying) in France with a « student Â» residence permit
  • You have obtained a professional bachelor’s degree, a Specialized Master’s, a Master of Science (certified by the ConfĂ©rence des Grandes Écoles), or any other diploma at least equivalent to a master’s degree.

And for reason 2 that you mentioned, what exactly does it say? You can copy-paste it here if you want, and I’ll tell you what it means.

Best regards

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for the response

• Yes, I obtained my engineering degree in 2021 in France.

• Yes, when I left French territory I had a student card.

The reasons for the refusal of my visa are as follows: • « You have not provided proof that you have sufficient financial resources to cover your expenses of all kinds during your stay in France, or you are not able to acquire them legally. Â»

**** I have put my older brother as a financial and housing guarantor. The financial support and accommodation certificates were legalised at the town hall. He earns approximately €3,000 per month. Without children and in a relationship.

On average, at the end of the month, he has about €1,000 left.

• You do not justify a business creation project in a field corresponding to your training."

**** I do not understand this point knowing that I am going as a job seeker and not a business creator.

What do you think? What strategies should I adopt?

Thank you.

Hello Anna,

It is true that the RECE visa is recent, so we may not yet have a case exactly similar to yours. Nevertheless, based on the information you have shared, a few questions arise:

  1. Have you had an interview? If so, what questions were you asked and what were your answers?
  2. If not, have you written an explanatory letter serving as a cover letter? If so, I would like to see its content.

Regarding the resources mentioned in reason 2, you can simply make an irrevocable transfer certificate. Thus, the French embassy in Gabon will no longer be able to tell you: « You have not provided proof that you have sufficient financial resources to cover all your expenses during your stay in France. Â»

Do you still have a bank account in France?

Best regards,

Hello Andrew,

  1. During the interview, I had no questions. My file was complete, so the officer took all the documents.
  2. No, I did not write a letter for the first application, however, I plan to do so for the second one. The letter will be structured as follows:
  • Presentation of my background and the degree obtained
  • Explanation of the motivation for leaving (no job corresponding to my degree in Gabon)
  • Highlighting interviews and offers I have secured without follow-up because I was not in France, specifying that my profession is in demand in several regions.

Irrevocable transfer in France by my guarantor?

Yes, I still have my savings account with an amount of €1077.

Thank you.

These are plausible elements. And indeed, if there was neither an explanatory letter nor questions asked, it seems reasonable that you received a refusal.

In any case, they did not consider your financial support sufficiently reliable the first time. Therefore, it would not be relevant to reapply with the same financial support.

Now that you have a bank account in France, you need to see with your bank what is possible: an irrevocable transfer certificate (AVI) or simply a deposit justifying your resources.

Listen, if you wish for us to assist you in assembling the file and drafting your explanatory letter, I invite you to take the Silver Private Pass (€120). It entitles you to three private exchange sessions (WhatsApp call) to prepare a solid application this time.
