I’m giving you feedback on the journey of a friend who obtained his visa after reasons 2 and 5. My friend, Mr X, was accepted into the second year of a law degree at the University of Lille. He had a guarantor, an acquaintance in France, with a gross salary of 2770 euros and no liabilities. Everything seemed to be going well. But, as often happens, reality became complicated.
He was accommodated by a student friend in shared housing. This might intrigue you, but this situation raised doubts during his visa application. Indeed, he submitted his application with the proof of accommodation and all the required documents from his guarantor. Then, he received a visa refusal with a surprising reason: « You have not provided proof that you have sufficient resources. »
How is this possible? By checking his guarantor’s bank statements, it turned out she couldn’t maintain 350 euros in savings. Despite her salary, she spent almost everything. The embassy couldn’t rely on promises; it needed concrete evidence.
After this first refusal, my friend didn’t give up. He reapplied, this time with an amount of 615 euros per month and the same proof of accommodation. I won’t say more…
