I am writing to share my situation with you. I am Togolese and I applied to a private school in Paris. I received a visa refusal for reason 5 << The information provided to justify the purpose and conditions of the intended stay is incomplete and/or unreliable. >>. I reported back to the agency that assisted me, and they told me that it might be an unfavourable opinion from SCAC and they advise against submitting another application because I obtained my BTS in 2018 and I am applying for the bachelor L3, so it is likely due to this opinion. I would like your advice and help because I wish to reapply, I have even already made an appointment.
How is your file composed? Academic Section, Funding, and Housing? In general, the opinion of the SCAC is linked to reason 4. We have managed to overturn several reason 5 cases, such as Andry’s case. An analysis of your file is needed to understand what went wrong.
Thank you @Dona_Stid. My file is composed as follows: Academic section: - CV - latest diploma obtained (BTS) - certificate of collaboration where I am currently - certificate of enrolment from the school that accepted me - certificate of prior agreement from Campus France Financial section: - AVI issued by an agency of €9204, hence €760/month as payment Accommodation section: - certificate of accommodation for 3 months issued by an acquaintance - explanatory letter for accommodation noting that upon my arrival I will search for housing after the 3 months of accommodation - identity document of my host, electricity bill, tax notice Note: my school is located in 75000 Paris 13th, my host is in Noisy le Grand. Thank you for your feedback.
A hosting certificate is a document obtained at the town hall of the residence of the person who will host you. The hosting certificate is only for people who wish to come to France for a private or family visit of less than 3 months. Whereas the accommodation certificate is a document certifying that a person residing in France, whether an owner or a tenant, will host you during your stay in the city.
How much does your school cost, and how much have you already paid? Have you justified how you plan to pay the rest if applicable?
I submitted a 3-month accommodation certificate. For my school tuition, it is €5700, of which I have paid a deposit of €1140, and the remainder will be paid in instalments each month. For the documents regarding the years after the BTS, I have obviously detailed my professional experiences in my CV, as well as a certificate of internship for this year.
Kind reminder… I am currently putting together my application file. I have a housing certificate issued by Livin France with a monthly rent of €450 and a reservation certificate of €580 per month in my favour. Which one do you advise me to use? My submission is scheduled for next week.
Hello @nad I would advise you to use the accommodation certificate issued by LivinFrance, as it costs you 450 euros per month, whereas the hotel costs you 580 euros.
Moreover, booking a hotel in the Paris region at 580 euros seems unrealistic to me, knowing that a hotel in Noisy le Grand costs around 50 euros per night, which is 1500 euros per month. It’s also very good for students. I hope I have addressed your concern.
I received my passport yesterday following a second visa application submission for reason 5 and I received the same refusal reason again, even though this time I opted for a certificate of residence in France as you advised. What would be the real reasons for this refusal because my file was clear this time.
