Hello everyone, I applied for a long-stay internship visa for 4 months at the Dakar consulate since last 18 August and still have no response, even though it’s a paid internship and I am accommodated for free. My internship was supposed to start last 11 September, yet the consulate still hasn’t replied. Do you know what I can do? I am extremely worried, do you think it will be a refusal since my internship start date has passed? I also provided the favourable opinion on the agreement, please reply to me.

We cannot comment on the decision. The fact that your application has not yet been processed is not surprising, perhaps there are too many applications to handle. You can ask your company to allow you to start on a future date, which you will send to the consulate.

Hello @Juliano_Boko It should be noted that the visa processing time varies depending on several factors. The high demand for visas during this back-to-school period doesn’t help either.
However, we have recently experienced several cases in Cameroon for example where the visa application took more than 2 months, but the students eventually received their visas.
Don’t hesitate to check the status of your application on France Visa, and to contact the French embassy in Dakar.
