Good evening everyone Please, I would like to know which is more reliable at the consulate: a lease contract in one’s name having paid 1 month’s rent and deposit, or a free accommodation certificate signed for 1 year by a French person? The French person in question is a professor from my university who issued it to me. I’m hesitating on which to use for a visa application. Thank you for your suggestions.
Hello @ABOU1 Both are reliable
Available if needed
Hello @ABOU1
A rental contract is as reliable as a proof of accommodation. However, the specific advantage of a proof of accommodation lies in the fact that if you are accommodated for free, you can block 350 euros for your irrevocable transfer certificate and not 615 euros.
Hello everyone I have a professor from my host university who has provided me with a one-year accommodation certificate, and I would like to know if this will be accepted at the consulate since there is no connection between us. Can I write an explanatory letter to explain who he is to me? Thank you for your response.
You have no problem. No link is required by the embassy. Only the material conditions matter!
