Hello family, I hope you are well. I have an issue; my cousin is supposed to accommodate me during my stay in France. I wanted to know, he has a 2-room apartment, 47m2, can he provide me with a certificate of accommodation?

In principle, yes, does your cousin live alone? Have you checked the distance between your school and the accommodation?

In general, for a housing certificate, you need:

the area of the premises must meet certain standards (notably for obtaining social housing allowance): the habitable area is at least 9 m2 for a single person, 16 m2 for two people (add 9 m2 per additional person). In reality, and for everyone’s comfort, we recommend 18 m2 for a single person, and +12 m2 per additional person (Housing density index).

Hello Andrew, thank you for your response, yes my cousin lives alone and the distance between his house and my school is not very far, 45 minutes maximum.
