Manifesto of Technology-Assisted Guidance (TAG)
Preamble
We believe that every young person deserves guidance that is neither endured, nor standardised, nor reduced to statistics.
We believe guidance should no longer be a mere administrative sorting mechanism, but a human, territorial, and forward-looking process that enables everyone to become an active participant in their own trajectory.
We believe technology should assist humans, not replace them.
Technology-Assisted Guidance (TAG) was born from this conviction.
The Fundamental Principles of TAG
1. Humans before technology
TAG does not replace psychologists or advisors.
It enhances their capacity for listening, analysis, and support.
The doctrine of TAG can be summarised by the following principle:
Technology enlightens.
The advisor supports.
The individual decides.
Without an advisor trained and certified in the TAG method, there is no TAG.
2. Self-confidence is at the heart of guidance
The central objective of TAG is to help each young person regain confidence in themselves, their ability to act, and their potential.
Guidance should not produce anxiety, discouragement, or social determinism.
It should enable the young person to:
- better understand themselves;
- identify their strengths;
- explore possibilities;
- and gradually become the pilot of their own trajectory.
3. TAG is forward-looking
A young person is not the sum of their past grades.
TAG does not aim to predict a probable trajectory, but to explore possible futures.
We reject approaches that confine individuals into fixed categories.
4. Guidance must integrate territorial realities
A life project cannot be conceived in isolation.
TAG is based on a holistic methodology (the 7Cs) and a dynamic Territorial Ontology linking:
- professions;
- training;
- territories and mobility;
- market dynamics;
- funding.
5. Technology must reduce inequalities, not reproduce them
Access to quality guidance should not depend on:
- income;
- social network;
- territory;
- or the cultural capital of families.
TAG aims to democratise access to high-level personalised support.
6. Personal data primarily belongs to individuals
We apply the principles of Privacy by Design and Transparency by Design: every piece of data collected, every algorithm, and every recommendation must be transparent, explainable, and have an explicit justification in the service of supporting the young person.
We reject any logic of commodifying human paths.
Our ethical code relies on the philosophy of eshuo ge, sacred friendship, which places trust, loyalty, responsibility, and protection of the young person at the heart of the support relationship.
7. Guidance is a longitudinal process
Guidance is not limited to a singular choice of school, field, or profession.
TAG advocates for continuous support from the age of 12 until the first job.
It relies on building an evolving cognitive digital twin that allows for measuring the maturity, aspirations, and progression of the young person at each stage of their journey.
8. The TAG advisor is the guardian of the young person’s interest
TAG rests on a trust-based relationship between the young person and an advisor specifically trained and certified in the method.
The TAG advisor is neither a mere administrative operator nor an executor.
They are the guarantor of:
- listening;
- contextualisation;
- ethics;
- and above all, the young person’s interest.
TAG recognises that the social, educational, or family environment can sometimes project expectations onto the young person that do not align with their deep aspirations or future balance.
The mission of the TAG advisor is to help the young person build a free, informed, and coherent trajectory true to themselves.
9. Guidance should enable human fulfilment
The ultimate goal is not merely employability.
The goal is to allow everyone to build a coherent, dignified, and happy trajectory.
TAG places meaning, autonomy, and empowerment at the heart of the guidance support.
Our Vision
We want to build a TAG guidance infrastructure capable of connecting:
- human intelligence;
- territorial intelligence;
- economic intelligence;
- and technological intelligence.
We believe a fairer society begins with better enabling everyone to understand the possibilities available to them.
Technology-Assisted Guidance is not just a tool.
It is a new paradigm and a philosophy of empowerment in support of human guidance.
