Is it possible to make a housing reservation on Crous in Nancy while being accepted in Metz? Distance 57 km. Can this work for the visa?

I doubt that your request will be accepted. Each CROUS is assigned to a city, and the requests per city are already very numerous, so I don’t think they will accept requests from other cities.

It won’t work here either, you do not meet the conditions for the distance between the accommodation and the institution. This distance must be less than 40 km.
