Hello there and welcome to WlH! Today, I’m going to tell you an interesting story, that of a student visa refusal which, after an appeal, turned into a visa approval.

It all starts with Danielle, full of hope and ambitions. Like many of us, she dreamed of studying in France. Everything seemed to be going well until the news came. The French consulate in Cameroon refused her visa. Reason 4?
Reason 4! « there are sufficiently convincing elements and serious reasons to establish that you will stay in France for purposes other than those for which you are applying for a study visa » In other words, they think Danielle is not coming to France to study… but to sell spices! Imagine that!
This was without counting on Maître Nguiyan, a lawyer at the Paris bar, brilliant and passionate about his work. He decides to take the case in hand, without even waiting for Danielle’s agreement. On October 23, everything is decided at the administrative court of Nantes. On one side, Maître Nguiyan, on the other, the lawyer for the French Ministry of the Interior. The battle is intense, arguments fly. It’s like an episode of « Suits »!
And then, the climax. The judge condemns the consulate and orders the re-examination of Danielle’s file. Not only does she get her student visa after that, but the ministry also has to pay 800 euros in legal fees. Danielle’s story is one of perseverance and justice. It’s an inspiration for all young people who dream of studying abroad. Never give up. And remember, sometimes, you just need the right ally to overcome obstacles.
