francaisaletranger.fr announces that the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship programme developed by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is launched for the 2024-2025 academic year. It allows higher education institutions, not directly students, to submit applications for the brightest foreign students for degree courses at the master’s and doctoral levels. Eligible candidates must have an excellent academic record, be no older than 25 (for master’s) or 30 (for doctoral), and have an adequate level of proficiency in French. The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is open until 10 January 2024.

Meanwhile, in senegal, according to rfi.fr, Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar switched to online teaching in mid-June for its 90,000 students due to the violent clashes following the sentencing of political opponent Ousmane Sonko, who was sentenced on Thursday, 1 June 2023, to two years in prison for corruption of youth.
