I read that the passport must be valid for at least 15 months from the time of submitting the application, and by August, my passport will have exactly 12 months left. Could this be a reason for visa refusal? If so, should I get a new passport? Additionally, I want to point out that this is the same passport I used for my Campus France procedure. If I get a new passport, will there be consistency between my Campus France documents and my visa documents? Thank you.

Yes, you should renew your passport. As for the issue of consistency, it is non-existent since you will always have the old passport in your possession if needed.

I would like to specify that I am in Cameroon. 1- Accommodation: The person who will host me is a friend of mine. He has provided me with all his documents: scanned residence permit, lease contract, electricity bill, his last three rent receipts. I don’t know if there is any document missing. (His house perfectly meets the criteria) *My problem is that his residence permit expires on 13-12-2023, does this pose a problem for my visa application since he has made me a one-year attestation, please 
*Should I also write an explanatory letter to show the relationship between my friend and me?
2- Funding: Is having a financially solvent guarantor in France and making a statement of 2,500,000 FCFA acceptable at the consulate? My guarantor is already my mother’s younger brother but lives very far from the university, which is why I had to find someone who could host me. He has provided me with all the documents: residence permit, employment contract (fixed-term), but has been working for 5 years as a professor at Le Mans University; 3 payslips; 3 recent bank statements; last tax notice; an EDF receipt. Please, if I have forgotten anything, do not hesitate to mention it. Will my application be accepted with all these elements?
I would like to specify that I wrote to Studely, and they told me that I absolutely need a statement of the 5,000,000 required even if I have the guarantor, otherwise it will not be accepted, and making 2,500,000 could result in a refusal.
Please help me, I don’t know what to do anymore, and these are all the financial resources I could gather. Thank you for your responses.
I’m not an expert, but the comment I can make is that if your guarantor is in France, they are not required to make an AVI; they just write a letter of support and specify the amount they intend to give you. You’re in Cameroon, which is why Studely told you that, but I read about a case like yours where someone made an AVI of 2,500,000 and got their visa in Cameroon.

For the residence permit, it must be valid for 3 months from the date you plan to leave for France.

You don’t have a problem. You don’t need an explanatory letter just for that, well, if you want to add a general explanatory letter, why not

Then you need to check his solvency in relation to the amount of the sponsorship!

But we have seen that it is indeed possible to block half of the amount.

Hello hello, just to let you know that I finally got my visa. I applied on 7th August, my application was processed on 14th September, the end of processing was 14th September, and collection on 14th September. With the start of term already passed and an exemption on 18th September. That’s why I haven’t announced my visa here since I’m in the middle of the process. Thanks to @Andrew for everything you do in the community and I myself remain available to help others.

I finally made a notice of €4800, so €400 per month with a coverage of €200 and free accommodation. I specify that it is a public university with exemption.
