Hello everyone,
I have a small concern and I would like your insights. Can a French person with a salary of €2000 and 2 dependent children be a financial guarantor for €615/month? My concern is about the salary. I wonder if it will be sufficient.
Hello everyone,

Hello everyone. I have an issue with my file and I would like your opinions please. Indeed, my aunt (a Belgian residing in France) will provide me with financial support. I strongly doubt her solvency because she has 3 children, so I am considering adding a second guarantor who is just a friend but who, on the other hand, has a good salary and is single without children. My question is whether the fact that the second guarantor is just a friend could be a reason for refusal? Thank you in advance for your responses.
Hello and welcome @Dellind
Is the €2000 his net or gross salary?
Otherwise, here is how to calculate based on the salary and the number of dependents:
The amount of NET monthly resources that the guarantor must have is calculated as follows:
| For the guarantor | €1329.0 |
|---|---|
| For the student | €615.00 |
| Per dependent family member of the guarantor (*) and per family member of the student who would accompany them | €150.00 |
Since your guarantor is a man with 2 children, theoretically, he must justify net monthly resources of at least 1329 + 615 + 300 = €2094 to be eligible to sponsor you.

Hello @L2 Which country are you applying from?
Otherwise, some embassies require you to demonstrate the family relationship.
However, we have had cases of students who obtained their visas with financial support without a family relationship. You just need to know that the most important thing is to demonstrate that this person will actually send you money for your subsistence in France.
Gabon - Does the financial guarantor have to be a family member?
Thank you for your response Dona. I am doing it from Cameroon.
